About MistaDo

Greetings Fellow Surfers!

My name is Dennis or as known to my Cyber Friends MistaDo.

I began learning designing webs in Geocities in 1996 using notepad (which I still use from time to time) and FTP to upload my work.

On January 24th 1997, I deployed my first live WWW site for my previous employer.
The site grew in excess of 475 pages of information related to Industrial Automation and Motion Control enjoyed over 8000 hits a week.  The company merged with another and I took the site down last in April of 1999 as I left the company and moved on to another company in the same industry.

In September of 1997 I moved to the Boardwalk at SouthBeach after changing the theme of my pages to reflect  many of the things I had learned. I wanted to use the site to experiment using java applets, javascript and other html languages that were being developed such as CSS and DHTML.
My goal was to make a resource for novice web builders to learn the basics and some advanded techniques that could be easily deployed on their personal sites.

In December of 1997 I signed on to serve as a SouthBeach Community Leader in GeoCities so I could give back to others as people had done for me when I started.

In April of 1998 I started my own domain named MistaDo.Com and began hosting and web design for small businesses, I keep 4 live samples running there at all times. I have a CyberMall with secure storefronts for your shopping needs, as well as Free Greeting Cards for any occasion. My CardShop is currently receiving anywhere from 5,000 to 15,000 Hits a month!

Unfortunately in the year 2000 since YaHoo decided to disassociate themselves from the community leadership that was helping people and keeping the site contents safe for viewing by children, they began setting up community themes that were not conducive for viewing by a general audience. It began first with their promotion of Sex and Romance then Hacking Clubs. As a community Leader it was our responsibilty to keep GeoCities free of that stuff, and here is YaHoo changing it to suit their own needs. Then they went on to change the Terms of Service we agreeded to with GeoCities. I finally got fed up and resigned and moved in here so I could control my own destiny with my goals online, and at least have a site that is seperate from any community and safe for all ages.
